Hello to our followers and supporters at Gulf International Bank!
We are now six months into our joint partnership with the village of Chorkolor.
Our staff and many of the residents have been striving and working together to build a better community for everyone.
The work would not be possible without you: our supporters. With that in mind, we would like to show you what you have made possible with your generous donations.
Importantly, for the first time ever, a well has been dug in the community. This is giving clean water to all 396 residents. This alone is a huge achievement and will drastically improve people's health, cut down the time spent fetching water from far away sources and dramatically decrease the number of deaths among infants.
With your help, we can support Chorkolor to have their own market garden. This will give women to opportunity to grow vegetables to fight the crippling malnutrition which many women and children are suffering from. Additionally, growing vegetables will give women the opportunity to sell them at market, so for the very first time in their lives, they will be able to independently earn their own income. The women are preparing the land to start farming, and with your continued support, we can ensure that they are able to sustainably and organically farm the crops which will improve their health and empower with wealth.
We are also giving the necessary guidance, tools, knowledge and resources for each household to build their own private toilet. With your continued support, soon the communities will have their own latrines.
All of this work has only been possible because of you. It may be hard to imagine how we, thousands of miles away, can be having such a big impact on people. The truth is though, that without people like you, there would be no well, no toilets and no way out of extreme poverty for the community of Chorkolor.
On behalf of everyone at WellFound and the residents of Chorkolor, thank you!
