Update on the work of the Agripreneurship Alliance

By Anne Roulin | President

Over the past 7 years, Agripreneurship Alliance has demonstrated its expertise in providing a solid training in Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness. Through the "Training of Trainers", more than 1350 young people have been trained in 7 high-impact African countries. More than 200 companies have been created or strengthened. During these six years, we have also promoted the development of organizations that support entrepreneurs, such as incubators and accelerators, in Africa.

To further extend our impact, we have decided to change our model. Instead of organizing the training ourselves, will make our training materials available online. This will allow individual entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurs Support Organisations and project leaders to access it. More young people will be reached, creating more businesses and jobs. African organizations supporting the creation and development of entrepreneurs, such as incubators and accelerators, have developed considerably across the African continent in recent years. These organizations need access to robust training materials.

Thus, the new project objective is to build an online training program Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness that guides a potential entrepreneur through the steps of developing a solid business plan to launch, or grow, a business. It will be based on the training materials implemented by Agripreneurship Alliance since 2018 and all the experience gained. The aim is to make the course available free of charge to expand the impact and number of young people benefiting from such training to enable them to facilitate the creation of agri-food businesses. Furthermore, our initial focus was on East Africa, and we are now working in countries across the African Continent.  This new project will consolidate this geographical expansion.

For these reasons the current project will be stopped, and the new project is entitled On-line Training in Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness. The GlobalGiving reference number is #67422
