Progressing towards long-term sustainable impact for women farmers

By Shailendra Patel | Project Collaborator

Your continued support is making a difference

We are thrilled to report that we have raised over $30,000 to help improve the farming livelihoods of the women farmers. 400 women are now growing healthy crops using their climate-smart greenhouses! We are aiming to raise $50,000 before the year-end and we need your support. Reaching this goal will help another 500 poor women farmers.

The Advantages of Climate Smart Greenhouses

Since our last report, our partner Kheyti has also organised local agronomist support for the women. This provides the women with further continued education and training. The women now manage their crops with increasing knowledge and confidence. This makes them less dependent on others.

The latest harvests for the women have produced twice as many tomatoes and cucumbers than when they have grown these crops outside their climate-smart greenhouses. This has provided much needed additional income for the women with which to feed their families.

Scaling our efforts to reach more women farmers

With the success of our efforts to date, our partner, Kheyti will begin planning to help another 2000 farmers during the next year across many other villages in India. Your contributions have been instrumental in helping us get there. You have made lasting differences to the lives of these women farmers and their families. Please continue supporting them.
