Dear Fundación Dones de Misericordia Family,
This New Year 2022, we would like to start with some words of hope “If I change, everything changes''! Thank you for walking with us throughout the years and the challenges pursuing not only your happiness but also the happiness of the children that live in Casa de los Dones. With your donations and support, the children continue to grow healthier and happier in spite of the challenges.
At the end of 2021, one of the boys graduated from elementary school and transitioned to middle school and another young adult graduated from high school and started architecture school in Bogota, Colombia taking the lead motivating other boys but also inspiring other volunteers and donors to continue reaching their dreams.
The 2021 holiday season ended with a celebration of life and gratitude for all the obstacles that were overcome and the boys received gifts that always bring their smiles to brighten the hearts of all who support them.
The new academic year with in-person classes was a fresh start for the boys who were able to meet with their classmates. The volunteers continue being able to support them using didactic materials to strengthen their skills in math, reading comprehension and writing. As well as the continuation of Sports with Values to maintain their values, healthy relationships, education, peace, and healthy lifestyles. This variety of activities allows them to explore their preferences and begin to think about what they want to do when they grow up.
During this last quarter, one of the boys and his family were supported to reunite, a family that is ready to continue ensuring that his needs are met. We continue supporting them during this transition to ensure they are set for success.
We are thrilled to share that two boys who will be graduating from high school this year are studying to take their tests to apply for Industrial Design and Computer Systems Engineering following the lead of the young adult who is attending the architecture program at a top ranking university in Colombia.
As the Spring Season starts we wish you, your family, and your loved ones to continue being healthy and happy surrounded by the warmth of love and peace. Your commitment and monthly efforts through your donations help to shape a brighter future for the boys who live at Casa de los Dones.
