The 2022 school year is in full swing!
Classes are full, teachers are innovating and families are happy once again - the new school year is off and running! In Nicaragua, students start school in January and finish by December. This school year, we added 5th grade and continue to make progress in the development of our school. The preschool continues to operate Montessori-inspired lessons and we are strengthening our primary school curriculum and bilingual programs looking forward soon to secondary schooling. Our female empowerment program, English language courses, and immense opportunities for local children to succeed are some of what continue to make Escuela Adelante stand out. Since our launch in 2014, we have worked to create a school that represents diversity, equity, and growth.
But, none of that would be possible without the committed sponsors that are contributing to the scholarship program that we have been running through GlobalGiving since 2021. You guys make it possible for all students to attend. At the time that we originally launched this campaign, the world was facing so many challenges and we had more families than ever requesting scholarships. We reached out to our system of support and YOU responded by committing to monthly donations, sponsorships, and other types of help for our most economically vulnerable families.
When given the opportunity, we believe that all students can succeed. We know that families of all backgrounds have the same dreams for their children of success, happiness, triumph, and more. By giving to this campaign you are helping to break down socioeconomic barriers that once held students back and apart. In a global educational system typically set up to separate rather than integrate students of different backgrounds, Escuela Adelante also stands out as a leader in diversity and educational equity across economic, gender and social lines. We believe that our differences inspire greater understanding and learning, and we hope our model contributes to a more peaceful world.
Thank you for committing to a 2022 scholarship or for your one-time donation. 100% of every donation that we receive through this campaign goes directly towards the scholarship student tuition. Our accessible model makes everyone feel welcome and a valued part of the school -- because they are!
