Dear Friends of RHL,
We have exciting developments to share! Thanks to your support 18 students, who’ve either been RHL beneficiaries or who are now receiving an RHL scholarship, have graduated high school and are starting college at the local community college!
Graduating high school in itself is an enormous accomplishment in Liberia. Nationwide, 48% of 15-24 year olds have not completed primary education (EPDC).
Of the 18 students, 8 are young women beating the odds. In Liberia, less than half of girls finish primary school. And at any time, 1 in 3 girls become pregnant, resulting in school drop outs (UNICEF).
These 18 students have worked hard to overcome the numerous challenges that poverty imposes and they are well on their way to a brighter future.
With YOUR support, we’ve ensured that RHL beneficiaries stay enrolled in school. We pay their school fees and provide uniforms and supplies. We’ve provided after-school tutoring to ensure that students have the academic support they need. Now they’re off to college!
Congratulations Anna, Alfred, Amara, Arena, Bendu, Bezalee, Elizabeth, Fatorma, Fayiah, Henry, Jerry, Karen, Kebeh, Margret, Marian, Mohammed, Princess, and Varney!
From all of us at Restore Hope, THANK YOU for contributing to their future.
With gratitude,
Saundra
