Progress Report on the "GIVE A MENSTRUATION KIT

Dear friends, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide you with an update on the progress of our ongoing project, made possible through your generous support. Since our last update, we've been diligently working on ensuring the continuity and success of the "GIVE A MENSTRUATION KIT TO KEEP A GIRL IN SCHOOL" initiative. Although there was a brief hiatus due to the students' examination preparations and the subsequent school break, we are excited to share the strides we are making. Our current focus is on supporting the girls in grades 5, 6, and 7 at New Hope Primary School in Butambala District. In February, we're planning to procure and distribute 40 Afripads to these young girls. These menstrual hygiene kits are vital to ensuring the girls can manage their menstruation effectively, enabling them to attend school regularly without interruptions. Your continued support and contributions have been instrumental in making this possible. We deeply appreciate your dedication to empowering these girls through education and menstrual health support. We'll be providing you with a comprehensive report after the distribution, detailing the impact and the stories of these girls whose lives have been positively affected by your generosity. Report on distribution of reusable pads-Sept203

We are thrilled to provide you with a heartfelt report on the recent distribution of reusable pads to school children in Butambala district, a project that has been made possible through your generous support.

Project Overview:

Our initiative aimed to address the critical issue of menstrual hygiene and its impact on girls' education in Butambala district. Many young girls in this region face significant challenges during their menstrual cycles, including a lack of access to sanitary pads. This often leads to embarrassment, anxiety, and missed days of school, affecting both their academic performance and self-esteem.

Distribution Details:

With your support, we were able to distribute reusable pads to a total of 2students across 2 schools in Butambala district. The distribution took place on July 15^th 2023 and was conducted in collaboration with local school authorities and community leaders.

Impact and Student Feedback:

The impact of this initiative was immediate and heartwarming. The students were overjoyed to receive the reusable pads and expressed their gratitude. They shared how these pads would greatly improve their lives and education in several ways:

Enhanced Self-Esteem: Many girls revealed that the fear of leakage during their periods had made them reluctant to attend classes, causing them to miss valuable learning opportunities. With the reusable pads, they now have the confidence to attend school without worrying about any mishaps.

Reduced Financial Stress: Some students mentioned that they had been forced to engage in relationships or seek financial assistance from boyfriends to purchase disposable pads, putting them at risk and distracting them from their studies. The provision of reusable pads has alleviated this financial burden, allowing them to focus on their education.

Improved Concentration: With access to proper menstrual hygiene products, students can concentrate better on their studies and participate more actively in classroom activities. This, in turn, is expected to have a positive impact on their academic performance.

Next Steps:

Our commitment to the students of Butambala district doesn't end here. We will continue to monitor their progress and provide additional support as needed to ensure they have access to the resources required to succeed in their education.
