Girls Dormitory

A big thank you to you all for your amazing support for this Girls Dormitory project!

We have almost reached our target.  A total of £3,048 was raised out of a £3,598 goal.  So we have just £550 remaining to reach our target.

We now have 17 girls staying at the dormitory.  We are so pleased with the difference this dormitory has made to the lives of our girls.  Not only has it provided a safe space for a number of girls who are at risk from abuse it has also improved the confidence and academic performance of each and every girl.

All the girls who lived in the dormitory during 2023 managed to scored over 55% in their final Primary School Assessments and qualified to go to good secondary schools where they have continued to achieve high results.  Due to their confidence being built at Roko all are participating in extra curriculum activities at their new schools.

A growing body of evidence tells us that strategic investment in adolescent girls’ education, health, safety, and economic opportunities can help end inter-generational poverty; positively affect the most marginalized and underserved communities; and boost the economies of entire countries. An impressive evidence claim which we are so pleased to be part of.  All thanks to your support.
