Educate a girl educate the whole nation is an adage that is quite true even in this modern times. Statistics now show that girl child is overtaking boy child in education and their performance in the market place is now as equal to the men in position of authority if not better.
We succesfully did three national examinations where a total of 89 girls went to the next level of education without dropping out where 30 girls will join Junior Secondary School, 34 to Senior Secondary School and 25 possibly to colleges and universities.
Those who will not manage to be admitted into universities and technical colleges will join what the Government is calling Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET). For those who are still continuing in our schools, we will continue to give them lifeskills training in crotcheting and counselling them to be responsible and avoid life and company which will not enable them to succeed.
To succesfully exit to these next level of ensuring their future, they will still need your assistance. Any small amount will enable buying some personal effects as they join. Otherwise sponsoring one student in a tertiary college would cost approximately US$1000 per year. Total cost to attain a bachelor degree about US$4,000/= now that the new Government is saying that it will not subsize any further education of the students.
This new Government policy may affect the education of the girl child negatively. Our hope is that the Government will reconsider its stand and hear the plight of the poor. Meanwhile thank you so much and lets continue giving girls a brighter future for in doing so we are developing the whole nation!
