This project aims to establish a cassava processing unit in Bertoua to produce gari, a popular and high- demand staple food in Cameroon and many African countries. The processing of cassava into gari will involve several steps, requiring specific machinery and trained labor. By implementing this project, the local economy will benefit through job creation, skills acquisition, and added value to Cassava processing opportunities in Cameroon.
Cassava Availability : Bertoua has a high yield of cassava, making it an ideal location for processing. Demand for Gari : Gari is a popular staple food in Cameroon and across West Africa, widely consumed due to its affordability, long shelf life, and ease of preparation. Unemployment Reduction : The project will provide job opportunities in farming, processing, and distribution. Value Addition : Processing cassava into gari increases its market value compared to selling raw cassava
