We have some exciting news coming from Mwituria High School in Laikipia. As you know, Mwituria is home to 400 children who until now have been without a dormitory and have had to walk up to 12km to and from school, every single day.
But thanks to your generous donation, and the fact that we have been able to raise almost US$15,000, the construction of the dormitory has started. This is very exciting for the kids and for all of us here at Ol Pejeta. In the last few months, Ol Pejeta Conservancy identified a suitable contractor and signed a contract to build "half" the dorm. The payment was disbursed and work has commenced. Once the building is completed, the total cost will be US$ 14,193. Currently, our quality control team is inspecting the work to make sure it's done properly and safely for the children. And we are hoping to finish soon!
But we still need your help! We need to raise another US$ 5,000 dollars to complete the dormitory to the original size it was intended to be. Right now, it's only about half the size and not all the children will be accommodated. Please help us achieve this goal by making another donation towards this very important project.
Thank you!
