Dear friends,
January and February of the New Year were bustling with activity. We accomplished several amazing rescues and found homes for a few that brought us a lot of cheer and satisfaction. We were able to procure walking wheels for couple of pets with special needs giving them the gift of mobility as they joined the gang of our amazing group of special pets. As always, your support has been crucial in our ability to help animals in need, and we are extremely grateful.
Melissa, one of the two puppies rescued from the clutches of animal cruelty at Sangamithra farm, finally found her forever home. It was a heartwarming scene as a family of grandparents arrived with their two grandchildren, eager to welcome a furry companion into their lives. It's heartening to note that it was the children, who harbored a deep love for dogs, who had taken the lead in this lovely initiative.
Gatsby was found abandoned at the gates of our shelter, quite literally, 'weak as a kitten'. A slew of tests then diagnosed him with Mycoplasmosis, a parasitic infection of his red blood cells, which had sent his RBC count among others, plummeting. After nearly 4 weeks of treatment, Gatsby has now fully recovered, and turned out to be good as new, proving yet again, that cats really do have 9 lives. With his treatment complete, he now freely roams within the shelter and is on the look out for a sponsor for his care and maintenance.
In February, we conducted our first awareness camp of the year at Yuvabharathi school where we have always found a receptive audience among the children of all age groups and an amazing management that believes in nurturing compassion and kindness from a young age. The World Spay Day on the 27th saw us giving a new lease of life to 19 pets saving them from a lifetime of suffering.
For as little as 20 USD, you can help support one spay or neuter surgery of a rescue pet and USD 25 covers the entire cost of treatment and care of a cat for a whole month. Please support us so that we can continue our work of transofrming lives—one paw at a time.
Thank you!
