September and October 2021 were again two remarkable months where we accomplished many life-saving surgeries for rescues of the city. We got a few successful adoptions and witnessed several transformation stories that are heartwarming. You have stood by us with your unstinting support and we are most grateful.
On September 28th, celebrated all over the world as World Rabies Day, we were out on the streets vaccinating 100s of street dogs and creating awareness about the deadly disease of Rabies - unfortunately not curable, but 100% preventable. The whole week starting from Sep 28th was celebrated as Rabies Awareness Week where we were able to administer free rabies vaccination to anyone who brought their pet to our clinic. We hope our dream of a Rabies-free Coimbatore becomes a reality at a not too distant future, and with your support, we are sure we can reach there sooner.
The two most significant rescues were that of Lucy and Venba - both just touch and go; but recovered remarkably with the special care they received at our clinic. Lucy was rescued after a horrible road traffic accident where one of her limbs was completely crushed. After a successful amputation, and despite being a tri-pawd, she outruns her four-legged friends comfortably today and has endeared herself to all our staff members. She has joined our family of permanent members of the sanctuary. Venba, a small puppy, was rescued with a massive dog-bite wound on her head; but today she is completely healed and ready to be adopted!
Heartwarming scenes at the sanctuary always make us believe in the power of compassion and that is reflected in the beautiful capture of our rescue cow Lakshmi with her bestie Veeru - the pony with whom she shares a special bond. Hope that brings a smile to your face too!
While your $ 50 donation covers the sponsorship of one of our permanent animals for a whole month, no amount is too small when it comes to making a difference to precious lives.
Thanks to your continued commitment to the cause, we are able to rescue and rehabilitate many sick, injured and abandoned animals of this city. Kindly continue to support us!
Gratefully,
Mini Vasudevan,
