Dear Friends of Charmaghz,
This March we approached you with a challenge. We lost funding for two of our mobile libraries due to the financial consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic. Each library has 100 children visitors per day and we just didn’t want to deprive them of access to education. We came to you to raise $32,000 and very generously, you stood by us. So far, we have raised $9,970.
Your generous donations made it possible for our mobile libraries to keep running for three months (April, May, June).
The children of Kabul were able to read a little more, write a little more, and think critically.
From $9,970 collected donations, $5,810 is spent as running cost of libraries for three months. We were able to sustain the following:
Our Impact on Children:
Charmaghz Libraries have always been a source of inspiration for regular visitors. In our libraries children read, write, paint, ask different types of questions, and listen to children’s songs, and play games designed by our experts to improve their mental health. Your donations made it possible for 8,803 children to visit the library in the past three months. One of our frequent visitors, Bibi Atya, an 11-year-old, read over 50 books in three months. She and other children like her, give our organization an enormous amount of energy and boost our morale for furthering our cause.
You as well as the children, also joined hands and donated as little as 10 Afghanis (around 15 cents). At the end of their collection drive, they raised $30 for their libraries. Their deep sense of voluntarism and love for their library was unprecedented.
On behalf of Children, we thank you and ask you to keep donating, sharing, and support our work, until we reach our goal of $32,000. Thank you for believing in us.
Warm Regards,
