HerStory is more common than you may even think.
While we are always fighting for the long term goal of a world where girls and young women are not subjected to violence at home, school or in their communities, where they feel safe, protected and loved, we also feel it is important to understand that in the now, intervention in situations out of their control is needed.
To date we have been able to support the smooth transition of three (3) families, since October 2021, all of which were girls within our programme, their single mothers, and in some instances siblings, with 100% coming from violent and abusive households.
Hear Her Story:"I have benefited tremendously from the organisation both mentally and emotionally.This has been done through weekly sessions which taught me about self-confidence, selfawareness and having a voice among other topics. However, in recent times I have benefited from the organisation through their emergency intervention. In late November 2021 they assisted my family which consists of my mother, younger sister and I in the removal from a violent household. Also, the organisation provided transportation so my family and I could be moved successfully from the household. The transportation came swiftly and was very helpful.Additionally, the organisation provided temporary housing for us which lasted three weeks and while we were there, they provided storage for our items. Moreover, we were assisted with the search and move to our permanent housing away from the violent household.
