By Dr. Yossef Ben-Meir | President of the High Atlas Foundation
The High Atlas Foundation (HAF) is very excited that on 5 January 2012 the first fruit trees (fig and olive) of Sami's Memorial Project will be planted with the schoolchildren of Alkayrouane elementary in the town of Tahanoute (outside of Marrakech) in the Al Haouz province of Morocco. The students will learn effective techniques for planting a tree and health related information through creative visuals. We also anticipate that the Governor of province, Mr. Bouchaib Moutaouakil, will attend the project groundbreaking on the 5th. HAF is also working with teachers of 4 other schools in the same province to plant fruit trees in their school environs, which is planned to be completed by mid-March.
