Improving seedling source
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your continuing support to our initiative tree growing especially in the upland villages. Fruit and timber tree seedlings are very much needed in order for tree growing to succeed and we are providing this important need by improving our fruit and timber tree stocks. We grow them in our demonstration and feeder farms and then distribute the seedlings to farmers in the villages. We designed this system in a sustainable manner by farmers buying the seedlings on a socialized scheme and then the proceeds we grow another batch of seedlings for distribution to other growers. Your support is essential so we succeed in this project. Thank you once again.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed Christian

village nursery
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our initiative growing fruit and timber trees for biodiversity. The growing of seedlings is a crucial step in the process and which sometimes is not taken great priority. There is a need for seedlings to be robust, coming from healthy plants and of superior quality because high-quality seedlings means good plantations. Our approach in this area is to select trees with good genetic material and then establish small seedling nurseries in the villages where the tree growing is done. In this way, we ensure that the seedlings is grown well and that mortality due to transport in long distances is minimized. This reporting period we are able to establish 1 seedling nursery in a village and we plan to establish some more as the months go by. Your help in our initiative is highly appreciated. We badly need to grow trees in order to help mitigate climate change.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed Christian Sayre

Including vegetable crops

promoting vegetables
Dear Friend,
Thank you very much for your support to our project promoting fruit and timber trees in order to improve biodiversity and help mitigate climate change. Tree growing is one of the ways we can help mitigate climate change but there is always the issue of farmers wanting to include the growing of food crops so that they get immediate benefits from the farming enterprise that they implement. Food is always in short supply and farmers are eager to raise vegetables so that while the trees are growing they get something from the land in the short term. Vegetables are great because of the income as well as nutrition support that it provides. Some of the vegetables can be harvested in a short time giving immediate benefits to farmers. Hoping for your continuing support as we promote this strategy.
Very sincerely yours,
Jed Christian Sayre
