Dear „Free services to cancer patients in Bulgaria“ Donors,
Despite the challenges of 2020 and thanks to your support, “Soul sisters” – our national mobile support program, visited 4 cities in Bulgaria. Our Pink camper did a stopover at several complex oncology centers and oncology wards in city hospitals where our team of physiologists and consultants- all to one breast cancer survivors talks with more than 215 newly breast cancer diagnosed and metastatic patients.
“Soul Sisters” program helps diagnose women to make them feel both supported and informed about the diagnosis through free of charge practical, informational and psychological counseling. Face-to-face conversation with our breast cancer survivors helps patients to cope with all the changes resulting from the diagnosis however especially in the countryside such services are not available.
In addition to the psychological, emotional and practical support during the four trips, we also distributed 430 turbans/ headscarf for women on chemotherapy, 177 primary kits for women with mastectomy - “Pink Bag”, 150 wigs for women on chemotherapy, 135 post-mastectomy bras as well as over 2 750 information brochures.
Together with all of you, “One in 8” Foundation supports and informs breast cancer patients to accept their condition, rebuild their well-being and improve their quality of life.
Thank you!
