We are happy to tell you that in 2022 we have supported 11 communities in 5 towns of Cundinamarca (La Calera, Guasca, Sopó, Gachancipá and Soacha), 426 people in total, mainly women and children.

All the communities started the project with healing circles, spaces for collective creation and social fabric strengthening, where we identified problems of the territory and the solutions that can be developed with our model “Nutrientrepreneurship”. Our expected results are: improve eating habits and increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables. Likewise, strengthen skills such as self-esteem, being purposeful, and team work.

In the encounters the communities express they feel they belong to something greater than themselves and have created a support group, which shows the social enhancement. The trust relationships between them are necessary in order to take decisions together for community development.

11 communities have participated in the experiential gastronomy and agroecology encounters. They have learned various nutritious and cheap preparations for family meals and methods of food transformation to generate income such as vinegars, fermented and pickled foods and yogurts. 75% average attendance during the encounters held with each community. Also, they learned how the germinate seeds, how to take care of seedlings, how to make compost and prepare the soil for sowing.

Through food encounters we have provided financial education, marketing, and budget and costs tools for the development of business ideas or for their small businesses.

To continue this encounters in 2023 we count on you and your generous heart. Thanks for believing in Soydoy!
