Your contributions are making a real difference!

Your generosity is changing these children’s lives

Thank you for your incredible generosity and the many kind words of support shared for the street children of Kolkata, India. We are thrilled to report that we have raised $1400. The funds raised will safeguard and continue to improve the lives of 60 street children who otherwise have to fend for themselves on the busy platforms of Sealdah Station in Kolkata, which they call “home”. The funds raised so far will help provide nutritious food, clothing and schooling for these children for the next 3 months.

Progress during another uncertain year

After 6 months of closure caused by the 2nd wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the school finally re-opened in November 2021, welcoming children who had no place to go for food and comfort. Creative learning activities were also introduced to educate children on general knowledge and topics such as hygiene, pollution and many others. This beyond-the-classroom approach proved extremely beneficial for the children.

They were also greeted by “Fantasy Land”, consisting of a new library and a computer room, where they can also navigate the digital universe and start developing their computer skills. Such learnings promote a space for creativity, innovation, and experimentation to help the children adjust to a more normal life and to cultivate their creative interests and abilities.

More children to be fed, educated and clothed in 2022

This year, the school will be expanded to make space for 2 additional classrooms and accommodate 40 more students. Together with your life-changing contributions, more children are continuing to be enrolled in the schools and activity centres organised by our partners streetchildren.dk. All the children receive healthy meals daily, as well as the benefit of a warm, loving, nurturing and safe environment!
