Kidsave has concluded another heartwarming season of Summer Miracles, and we are filled with gratitude and awe at the incredible journey these children from Colombia have embarked on. Since they arrived in the United States, these kids have experienced the warmth of their host families, the excitement of new adventures, and the possibility of finding their forever families.
In Los Angeles, the children and their host families enjoyed a memorable day at a Los Angeles Football Club soccer match at the BMO Stadium. The event kicked off with a joyful “meet and greet” reception at the View Park home of a generous host family. People from various states gathered to meet the children, filling the afternoon with laughter, card games, and the beginnings of meaningful connections.
The highlight of the day was the LAFC vs. Columbus Crew soccer game. For many of the children, it was their first professional soccer match, and their excitement was unmistakable! The atmosphere was electric, and the kids were thrilled by the skillful play on the field. The children were also invited onto the field to meet some of the LAFC players. Their eyes sparkled with joy as the players signed autographs and posed for photos, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Across the country, host families have shared heartwarming stories of their experiences with the Summer Miracles kids. In New York, Denisha, hosting Ivy and Miley, described the bond that has formed between the girls and her own children. They spend their days telling stories, playing games, and even cooking together, creating a joyful and harmonious environment.
Winter Brook Ryan, a Northport attorney and psychic medium, is hosting Nicolle, a 13-year-old girl from Colombia. The Ryans and Nicolle have shared many firsts, from attending a Long Island Ducks basketball game and witnessing fireworks to visiting Mystic, Connecticut. Winter reflects on the profound impact hosting Nicolle has had on her family and the mutual learning experience they’ve shared.
Kidsave’s Summer Miracles program offers older orphans from Colombia a special and unique chance at finding a family. These children, who are often overlooked for adoption in their home country due to their age, get to spend five weeks in the United States during summer, immersing in American culture and building connections with potential adoptive families.
We encourage you to become a part of this beautiful journey. Whether you’re looking to adopt or simply host a child for a month, your involvement can make a lasting impact. Together, we can turn moments of connection into a lifetime of love and family!
