2021 SKT Fighting Menstruation Taboos Report

By Martin & Donna Shively | Save Kids Trust Board Members

Despite the unique challenges this year, Dr. Saini and SKT have kept all three clinics operating normally, held multiple street clinics in new communities, and led many
Fighting Menutruation Taboos clinics.

Highlights for this program in 2021 include;

-over 600 young women with their Fighting Menstruation Taboos program. Each gathering grew in numbers because past participants would bring their friends. This was exactly what Dr. Saini hoped for although it happened at a much faster pace than acticipated!

- 450 comic books were given to participants (in both Hindi and English).

-for personal hygiene purposes menstruation kits are now available in clinics. Women can stop by and get what they need.

-SKT diagnosed and treated anemia with many of these women as they learned from their questions that they were not healthy.

Based on the learnings from the past year, SKT has identified a need to help pregnant women with proper nutrition information. 'Generational Malnutrition' is a story on our website that explores this problem and a solution SKT can provide.

None of it is possible without your help!

The Board and partners of Save Kids Trust want to thank you for your support. For a more in-depth look into some of our daily work, please visit the Stories section of our website.
