Happy New Year!
We are excited to be walking into a new school year alongside each of our projects. Our partner preschools, primary schools, and after-school programs began welcoming students last month after the holiday break, and our partner children’s homes continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for kids to grow and thrive.
Here are a few brief updates that we’re thankful for:
For more updates, check out our year-end newsletter by clicking "2021 Newsletter" in the "Links" section below. (And if you’d like to receive the print version of our annual update at the end of this year, email ellie@chosa.org with your mailing address.)
Finally, a COVID update:
In Cape Town, the fourth wave of COVID caused cases to climb rapidly in December, but the spike is now over, and lower numbers appear to have stabilized. The vaccine continues to roll out: one-third of the population is vaccinated, and one of our own projects has served as a vaccination site.
As the economic impact of the pandemic continues to affect our communities, we can’t thank you enough for your financial support. Your donations have provided food and other emergency relief in these challenging times, in addition to covering the day-to-day needs of our projects as they care for vulnerable children.
Your generosity means so much to us - thank you!
