By John Roccanova | Project Leader
Dear Donors,
Students will soon be tilling the earth at Grow Against Poverty’s eighth school organic garden. Vegetables from the gardens add important nutrients and variety to school lunches. For many students school lunch is the main meal of the day. Serving food at schools helps to improve attendance and academic performance.
Funding for these gardens has come from several sources. As news of the success of this program has spread among educators and community members, Grow Against Poverty has received requests from many other schools for startup money. Donations to “Fields for Greens” through GlobalGiving will make these new gardens possible.
Sincerely,
Grow Against Poverty
