We have 5 000 pre-school children and 200 caregivers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all pre-schools have been closed since March 27th. We have been fortunate enough to be able to deliver cereal for breakfast to a central point but with the closure of the pre-schools, the caregivers are not able to work and hence have no income for food themselves. We want to reach 3 000 households of children as well as our 200 caregivers and their families
Due to COVID-19 restrictions in South Africa, parents are not allowed to send their children to preschool. This means that the caregivers are not able to earn any money. The households are already very poor and the children rely on us for meals, which are usually delivered to their preschools. We now have a much greater need - the entire household needs food assistance.
We will be able to reach 3 000 households as well as 200 caregivers and their households
This project will ensure that our beneficiaries are receiving food while our COVID-19 restrictions are still in play.
