With more than six million people living in the state of Puebla, after the Puebla pandemic, it went from 43.5 to 50.1 percent of the population whose income was insufficient to access the basic food basket, according to Coneval.
During the month of September, we provided food support to 68,669 women, 82% of whom are over 18 years of age and are responsible for their home and have an average of three to four children to feed.
In recent months, food donations have decreased; monetary donations have been a strength and thanks to these donations we continue to provide food to many families.
We are truly grateful for helping us to help.
The strength of women to raise their families is inspiring, especially considering that we live in a world where gender equality makes them more likely to live in poverty and face hunger.
Women, are more likely to be employed in the leisure and hospitality industries that have been devastated by the pandemic. Workers in these industries continue to face the highest unemployment rate, making it hard to keep food on the table.
One moment can change someone's life. A family doesn't worry about paying bills, and then, it happens: a parent loses their job unexpectedly. Suddenly, the family is facing impossible choices: buying groceries or paying the electricity bill, picking up dinner or getting a child's prescription.
We invite you to join as a recurring donor, your gift can be more than hope for a family.
All my thanks for supporting our community in fighting hunger.
