A well Fed Child is Motivated to Learn

By Joshua Omondi | Project Leader

Sheepcare Community Center was established with the goal of transforming the community. We have stuck to this course, helping the less fortunate members of society and reducing the risk of foodborne and waterborne diseases outbreaks, while also providing high-quality education.

Through the feeding program, we have been able to accept a large number of our students who had been absent from class due to hunger. These students are now able to focus in class because they have access to food.

We are grateful for your continued support through the GlobalGiving Little by Little Campaigns and other donations. Many  students confidently leave their homes in the morning without eating breakfast because they know they will eat at school. We are also encouraged by some students who intentionally serve extra food to take home to eat with their siblings as diner because they are certain they won't get anything at home in the evening. These forces us to always prepare extra food for such cases.

The number of students enrolled in this program has increased and their performance has improved as they concentrate in learning. With these improments, we have witnessed a large number of girls and boys enroll in colleges and universities. Some of them go on to become well-known figures in the community and have the power to positively impact their families' lives.

One of the challenges we have faced in this program is financial constraints. It has caused us to strain to the breaking point and occasionally cause delays in purchases and meal services.

We are grateful for your continued support, which has helped lessen the burden off our shoulder and allowed us to put a smile on the faces of the students. We appreciate your assistance in transforming the community.

Blessings,
