MAKINDU CHILDREN’S CENTER CONTINUES TO FEED HUNDREDS OF KIDS DAILY, THOUSANDS MONTHLY. READ ON TO SEE HOW THE NUTRITION PROGRAM IMPROVES LIVES!
• Breakfast: Vitamin-enriched porridge served to all children to start their day with essential nutrients. Nourished and ready for a full day.
• Lunch: A nutritious meal of rice, beans, maize, and greens, providing balanced nutrition to support growth and energy. There will likely be no dinner at home.
• Importance of Proper Nutrition: Consistent, healthy meals help keep the children at Makindu Children's Center healthy, energized, and ready to attend school.
• Meal Lines: Despite the large number of children, the food lines are long but well-managed, with hundreds of meals served at each meal time.
• Respectful Behavior: Children queue up politely and quietly, showing respect to the process and each other.
• Meal Distribution: After receiving their plate of food, the children carry their meals to the sitting benches in the shade to eat.
• Monthly Meal Count: We are now serving around 20,000 meals every month, ensuring the children receive regular, nutritious meals.
• Strife Faced by Rural Kenyans: Many of these children come from rural areas where harsh conditions, such as drought, limited resources, and poverty, make life a constant struggle. Access to basic needs like food, water, and education is often a challenge.
• Uncertainty of International Funding: While international support is vital, there is always the looming uncertainty of funding, which can make it difficult to guarantee consistent food and resources. This uncertainty further intensifies the hardships faced by the children and their communities.
Thank you for supporting these children, keeping them fed and healthy!
