The continued donations from GlobalGiving is a great support to our shelter. We have been able to continue feeding our residents. The power of food bought with this donation and put on our table is clear; sustained and nourished women and children.
We have been able to also offer some special meals with our residents during public holidays like the latest one, Mashujaa Day.
Through same donations, we have also been able to purchase organic seeds and organic seedlings for our own planting and production of vegetables in our small farm. We have been producing enough vegetables and selling the surplus to our nearby market and also some to feed our animals; chicken and rabbits.
We have also been able to feed some of our residents who exited and reintegrated back to the community. For a period of 6 months, we are responsible to support them and their children as they pursue a course in hairdressing.
To all GlobalGiving supporters, we are much greatful for this continued support; giving to us as a shelter has been one of the reasons we are able to keep our doors open everyday! and we know that it has also been the inspiration behind your Loving Hearts.
