Farming For Empowerment And Entrepreneurship Development will create a sustainable food production which will drive an agricultural value chain productivity. This will be achieved through cultivation and processing of farm produce and thereby creating more job opportunities. The program will empower 1000 youths and women in Esan community of Edo state in Nigeria which have been feeling an extreme impact of hunger and poverty in this COVID-19 period.
FEED project identify problem of unemployment, poverty and hunger will is significant to human living especially during COVID-19 pandemic. According to survey done, About 82% youths between the age of 25-45 are ravaging in an extreme poverty and hunger in Esan community which poses threat to peace and security of this community and women between age 35 and above are unemployed and facing one form of hunger.
FEED is an initiative to banish hunger and creating employment. The Agric project will aim at providing food sufficiency and strengthen agricultural system in a participatory way by involving local communities and by engaging both public and private sectors in a quadripartite partnership. This programme will also be a social safety net and an empowering project that will offer employment to agricultural trainees and create more jobs for women and youths.
FEED project will effectively and efficiently transform Esan community from poor and low standard of living to high standard and profit generating value system for the participating youths and women and equipped them to empower more people in their environment. The project will boost the economic value of the community and the state at large and create a lasting and peaceful society.
