In the rugged terrain of Western Uganda, the Smart Agri Centre (SAC) is driving tangible progress. Profits for local farmers have surged, primarily from improved coffee bulking. However, the arrival of the rainy season has made transportation challenging, with muddy and slippery roads.
The SAC is performing well and providing upto 100 kWh of power each day for processing farm produce and adding value, including powering the street lights in the nearby trading centre.
Our next priority is to further develop the coffee processing in Mbata and demonstrate the value additon potential of our centre.
We see huge potential in further training and support for Mbata, and look forward to using our donations to achieve this for greater sustainable impact in the community.
