I was able to go to Uganda last December and I saw encouraging signs that this year may be better than the last. The rains continue to be sporatic but they came at a time this year when the seeds had been successfuly planted. The ground is hard and it is tilled by had and it takes a very long time to prepare. The villagers had some grain stored to give them food right now. When I was there in December we were dedicating a new school that we had just built. Just as we were leaving it started to rain. When we hit the main road some of the villagers stopped our truck and said to me "we are giving you a Karamojong name, Lokiru, which means "bringer of rain" It can also mean "bringer of blessing". I was deeply honored. They were so appreciative of our work there.
