What a stunning accomplishment! Utilizing staff’s creativity and vision, volunteers of all ages, including family members of residents and staff, joined us to enrich the lives of our residents: the Homes held an 8 day summer camp!
Despite the enormous logistical difficulties caused by normal and sudden check posts, the volunteers came. The Homes enabled two mothers from far distant towns to stay overnight so that they could participate with their kids.
Expanding the worlds and skills of our residents, the staff and volunteers conducted new activities and games, took our folks on picnics in the nearby area—and even to an amusement park!
All the participant, residents and volunteers were ecstatic and clamoring for us to do the camp next year.
