Report on family futures programme

A Brighter Future: Transforming Lives Together

"With UKBET's support, I was able to start my clothing business and now provide for my family. Seeing Jakia(Not real name), work with dignity and Rezia(Not real name), prepare for school gives me hope for a brighter, better future."
Hena Begum (Not real name), mother of Jakia(Not real name), and Rezia (Not real name),, two former child labourers.

Ending Child Labour Through Opportunity

In many families struggling with poverty, children are forced into work to help make ends meet. UKBET's Doorstep Learning Programme breaks this cycle by supporting families to build a stable income so their children can return to education and a brighter future.

How It Works

  • Micro-Grants: We provide small grants to help families start businesses that match their skills and resources.
  • Training & Support: Families receive practical training and guidance to ensure their businesses succeed.
  • Education for Children: As family incomes improve, children can leave work and focus on their education.

Real Change, Real Lives

This year alone, 78 families have overcome poverty through UKBET's support. Hena Begum's (Not real name), story is one of many: her clothing business now supports her family, enabling Jakia (Not real name), to learn sewing skills and work with dignity, while Rezia (Not real name), prepares to return to school.

How You Can Help

We aim to transform the lives of 120 more families in 2025, helping them build a better future. But we can’t do it without you.

Your donation can change a family’s story forever. Help us end child labour and create opportunities for education and hope. Thank you for your tramedous support.
