Self reliance is one of the key development pattern and it helps to build a child, transforms, and bring him or her to a better standard to be of assistance to family and the Community. Teaching children from the age of 9 to 17 on how to use their hands. This project embraces the following training: Sewing/fashion and designing, Carpentry/woodworks, Local Soap production and Tie and dye. The beneficiaries of this project includes Orphans, handicapped, street boys and girls and poor families.
In our community, poverty is a very big challenge to the population. Many parents, youths are not employed. For a family to eat three square meals a day is very difficult. This situation has made many young girls and boys do not go to school. Many of the girls are lurred into prostitution which has endangered most of their lives. Many has become unsudden street hawkers and they become public nuissance. Considering this situations and finding a solution made us to introduce Self reliance project.
In this self reliant project we will be training children from the ages of 9 to 17. The training will be on Carpentry work, Sewing/fashion and designing, Computer training and Tie and Dye. After three years of training, the children will be established and most of them will be deployed into the institution. The training they will receive will be able to expose them to better lives as most of them could receive employment from companies and industries. They can be able to establish on their own.
The beneficiaries of this project are the orphans, handicapped, street boys and girls and the poor and poorer families. After the three years training they are expected to be self reliance and capable enough to take care of themselves and families. They will also be able to train others thereby being useful to the community. This will help to eliminate public nuissance, poverty and armed robbery.
