Dear Donors,
We are happy to be back. We missed our kids, and they missed us back. We started the school year in October for Canaima and November for Los Roques, but after a well-deserved Christmas break, we are happy to be reunited with our students.
In January, we resumed our academic activities for Canaima. The kids welcomed us with cards and open arms after the winter break! As for Los Roques, we recently started the class in March.
We are so happy to continue bringing knowledge to both communities. The kids are not the only ones learning. We learn a little bit more about the people we meet every day. The peculiarities of each make them especially. For example, we notice the fire and energy of the community in Los Roques. As you can see in the picture, they love outdoor activities. While the community of Canaima is very calm and they love dynamics in the salon, they both require different teaching styles on our part. It’s always fun to prepare for each class differently.
This year, we are celebrating our fifth anniversary of working in Los Roques! We are eager to continue working as volunteers.
Thanks for your support!
