Hi Friends of Lighthouse of Hope MK!
We wanted to give you an update on some things hat have happened since our last report, in July.
We've been hard at work, even with all of the COVID mess in and around Macedonia (and the rest of the world). We were able to use the donations for The JOY Home to do several neeeded items at the home. Here are a few of them:
*The Dog Kennel is finished! Two of our therapy dogs-in-training, Chicken and Tater, (we call them "the twins") finally have a place to run around and get out all of their extra energy, while also staying safe from the many street dogs and wild boars that roam the area.
*We purchased safety items, a pack n play, and several car seats, as we prepare to open the Day Center for children.
*Also, because there are no closets in Macedonian houses, we were in desperate need of shelving and cabinets to keep all of our donations, therapy equipment, and toys. Just two weeks ago, we had three new shelving units installed, and they are beautiful!
*Finally, we had a gate installed at the front of the side property, and had the fence fixed, to keep out unwanted critters and street dogs.
Last weekend, a team came from Skopje, to help us prepare the home. They organized all of the donations on the new shelves, pressure washed the balcony, removed some dead trees in the yard, cut back overgrowth, and filled some holes around the property. They were a HUGE help!
