Hi Friends -
I just wanted to give a quick update to our project Equip a Day Center for Orphans in North Macedonia, to thank you for your support and show the work that has already been started at The JOY Home.
Until this month, the JOY Home had a non-functioning well and water system. The old pump was burnt out and there was no water pressure tank that is used to keep the pressure to the house continuous. With your gifts, we were able to purchase several of these items, and the plumbers have installed them! We are so excited! The JOY Home has water!
I've attached pictures of the items we have purchased so far, and even one of the toilet flushing! I've never been so excited to see a toilet flush in my life! It's been two years since Lighthouse of Hope purchased the JOY Home and this is the first time we have had working water! So, THANK YOU!
We will continue to post project reports as the work is completed. Currently, we have plumbers working on a leak they found (once we had water) in the main floor bathroom. However, it isn't a very bad leak, so it will be fixed very soon. As soon as that job is complete, they will begin installation of the water filtration system, to make the water clean for drinking. We also have contacted the contractor to begin work on the onsite therapy dog kennel. And as soon as covid restrictions make it possible, Faith and I will head to Ohrid, to purchase some of the items on our list: strollers, pack n plays, car seats, etc. We can't wait!
