Nearly 3,000 recycler families are experiencing hunger and need in Bogota, Colombia in midst of the current worldwide health crisis. This campaign seeks support for them with food and items such as masks, gloves, alcohol and antibacterial.
One of the most vulnerable groups in Colombia are the recyclers, who roam the streets in search of daily sustenance by collecting the waste of the citizens. These workers are exposed to the risk of contracting COVID-19 due to the lack of necessary elements for their personal protection. Also, they cannot stop their activity and do not have the option to isolate themselves as they get money from what they collect per day.
The help of generous people with small or big contributions will help us to provide these families with food, so they can avoid going out and they'll stay safe at home. Also, for the ones that have to go and work, they'll be provided with the necessary elements to protect themselves as masks, antibacterial, etc.
We will keep these environmental heroes and their families protected against the COVID-19 pandemic. In this way, we can also help to "decrease"the number of infected people in the country, as the more people outside, the more possibilities to get infected
