Manengouba Foundation (MF) supports the rural community of Nkongsamba, Cameroon, by working hand to hand with its partnership schools to assist in providing technology programs to further educate students, including training of trainers program designed for teachers who will be empowered to provide subsequent training to their students.
Currently, there is little to no exposure to internet, computer technology in Nkongsamba. Students, faculty and administration still rely on typewriters, paper and chalkboards. This negatively affects today's education in Nkongsamba. These students lack the knowledge, skills and resources available to their counterparts all over the world and as a result, develop poor self-esteem and a high level of insufficiency which exposes them to further disadvantage and vulnerability.
This project will provide technology equipment and help sustain computer training to students and teachers. It will modernize the educational curriculum by creating technology curriculum, providing health awareness, computer literacy, and utilizing the internet as a new source of information.
An initial number of 600 individuals will be directly affected: Additionally, the population as a whole will be exposed to the many uses of modern technology through organized seminars and multiple technology-oriented events. Since the region is mostly a farming area, farmers could be exposed to modern means of farming.
