Dear Supporter,
As our earliest donors to this campaign, La Serenissima is hugely grateful to you for helping to set the ball rolling. As you may be aware, public funding for classical music in the UK is proving increasingly hard to secure - and not just for organisations of La Serenissima's size and scale. La Serenissima continues to be creative in how it supports its artistic programme: crowdfunding is part of this.
La Serenissima gave a mini-tour of music relating to Anglo-Italian violinist Nicola Matteis the Younger, An Englishman Abroad, in September/October creating a patch of work for 16 artists including 3 emerging artists and taking culture to audiences in London, Chipping Campden and Norwich. We were able to record this programme in October and will make another chamber album in December, both at Cedars Hall, Wells.
Our following online is growing, with 115k+ monthly listeners on Spotify alone and growth across our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter & Instagram plus new subscribers on our YouTube channel. This is important because it helps us to reach new audiences and build engagement with supporters and other connections at a time where concerts are still in short supply.
We will be working hard over the coming months to grow our crowd via GlobalGiving and your donations very much help to keep the campaign active - for which we are very grateful.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Camilla & Adrian
