The foundation is currently working closely with the USbased “Ecologists Without Borders” on sustainable fisheriesefforts.Support of sustainable fisheries comes through identifying and promoting the use of national and internationalbest practices, with the objective of substantial improvement in health of the marine environment and the health andwellbeing of local coastal fishermen, as well as the same for those who depend on them and their products.Achievingthese objectives is in the hands of the fishermen themselves using a "bottom up" approach, with both FHMSR andEcoWBfacilitatingandsupporting the efforts.
In the month of July, it was possible to begin the process of sending documents to manage 10 promotional fishing permits for the use of lobster.
We established communication and a rigorous matching process with fishing officials in CONAPESCA and municipal INAPESCA for the verification of documents. This step is essential to avoid delays or rejections in the application process.
During July, the preparation of an extensive partial report for the Mexican Fund for Nature Conservation (FMCN) was completed. This report represents a collaborative and dedicated effort by our team to document the progress and results obtained to date in the conservation projects we have undertaken in the communities of Santa Rosalía, San Bruno and H. Mulegé. The partial report covers a detailed analysis of ongoing projects, including descriptions of activities carried out, achievements achieved and challenges faced. We have included quantitative and qualitative data to support our conclusions, as well as photographic evidence to illustrate the positive impact of our conservation actions. Additionally, the report highlights key performance indicators and previously established goals, allowing us to evaluate our progress and stay on track toward established objectives.
