In order to increase the impact of the project, we signed an agreement with the state highschools to implement the bank seeds and nurseries in their facilities. We started in with an online training for teachers to understand the objective and needs. Last month our team visited 4 communities in the area of the Montes Azules national park. It was very exciting to see that even if the schools were still closed because of the pandemic, the parents and kids came over to learn and help. Thanks to them we built four nurseries and are preparing the follow up to start with the seed recolection on the next two months. The schools have  500 students in average between the four of them. They are located in the surroundings of the lacandon forest. Each nursery will have a production of 100,000 plants for the use of the communities.

While the schools open and the seeds season starts again, we grew our seed bank in Na Bolom premises and hired a new member of the time in order to continue, her name is Damaris and she is originary from the capital of Chiapas, Tuxtla Gutiérrez.

Damaris:

"I first arrived in Na Bolom as part of my social service I had to do to graduate from college, the experience working with the time was very exciting. I had the chance to learn no things and also to put in practice what I've learnt in my carrier. I know help in the nursery, gathering seeds for the seed bank and with the green house. Na Bolom has a lot of interesting impactful projects around my home state Chiapas."

We are very grateful for your continuous support.

The best way to support us is becoming a monthly donor.
