By Rachel Willis | Administrative Assistant for 3 Generations
At 3 Generations we are currently working on our documentary film 10,000 Men that explores the commercial sex industry and the issue of child sex slavery, with a focus on the United States. Over the last few years we have spent a lot of time doing preparatory work and research for the film and now we are almost completely done with gathering footage. In fact, parts of the film are in the initial editing stage and we hope to have the final product done in the next few months. Our documentary will expose the cold hard truths of the commercial sex industry as well as the societal weaknesses from which it stems by talking to victims, Johns, pimps, police officers, and other industry experts. The film takes an entire look at the industry, and exposes it, from a cultural perspective.
We are also producing short films on this topic for our website, to help raise awareness before the debut of our documentary. We help survivors of sex trade tell their stories and give firsthand accounts of what really goes on within this industry. We are continuing to work with and support various other people and organizations that are also trying to expose the commercial sex industry, such as the Polaris Project and Rachel Lloyd of GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services).
