Dear friends, families and supporters of the Mitz Foundation
Wishing you and your families continue to be in good health. We want to continue to share with you our uninterrupted work for the development of skills and the empowerment of women at Mitz.
Concerned about hygiene and organization measures for the safety of our beneficiaries, collaborators, clients and suppliers, we prepared a return to work plan in our community center that included the most important measures, such as the implementation of disinfection stations at the entrance and surveillance. Personal protection equipment, signs of healthy distance, home office and staggered schedules for artisans and collaborators were implemented.
In 2020 we added 34 hours of training in human development, 86 hours in artisan techniques, 14 hours in productive projects, 40 hours in entrepreneurship workshop and 100 hours of training for employment. The trainings from May were given virtually and face-to-face due to the COVID-19 contingency.
The circular economy is a new economic model based on sustainability in which the consumption of raw materials is reused and reduced. Mitz's proposal is based on the idea of closing the circle of the traditional model, giving a new life to the products already used and optimizing the materials with which they are manufactured.
Through the elaboration of our artisan products, we seek to generate new cycles of use for those products that have already passed through their first useful stage, since it is one of the keys to the sustainability of this model.
In 2020 we transformed 121.6 tons of industrial waste from our strategic alliances with various national and international companies.
We continue to face important challenges: finding new spaces for the sale of products that create jobs for Mitz women. We continue to carry out training in human development and productive entrepreneurship through the online modality.
We are confident that the effort and impetus of the Mitz women and that their support and donation will become a great long-term social investment.
We will continue to update you on our progress.
Thank you for trusting Mitz
