Over the last few months, we have facilitated several events with the Women's Circle, a network of female peacebuilders who are participating in the CEEJA program (Citizen's Engaged in Environmental Justice for All).
In November, we convened a 2-day workshop with 42 people called "Women's Participation in Community and Natural Resource Protection." At this event, the participates engaged in discussions and learning on physical and mental health, leadership, and community participation. The women released fish into the stream as a symbol of their commitment to restore and protect the environment.
In December, 28 of the women gathered for a Women's Circle retreat at Shalom Valley. Participants were of various faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds. They met to have fun as well as learn from and support each other. Ms. Sopheap, the Executive Director for the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), spoke with the group about "self-development." They also had time for reflecting, sharing, and teambuilding on an obstacle course.
Thank you for your support. We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
Blessings -
The PBO Team
