BOKAMOSO LIFE CENTRE REPORT
MARCH 2025
It is the first quarter of the year 2025. Bokamoso Life Centre started the year with a positive encouraging energy. We are looking forward to a fruitful year ahead.
Youth Development Program:
The Centre intake took place in January 2025. Our target for the Youth Development Program for 2025 was 50 but we had more interest and the enrollment currently stands at 60. Learners enrolled in the Youth Development Program were the first to receive training on Computer Level 3 Accredited. This will ensure that when they graduate at the end of the year, they have an accredited qualification. They will continue with the Life Skills Program, and Arts and Culture Program and have an opportunity to apply for scholarships for 2026. The Youth Development Program is funded by the Bokamoso Youth Foundation.
Department of Social Development Programs:
The Centre was funded for another year to provide several programs through the Department of Social Development. It continues to fund the Computer Training and Accreditation Program and we were given additional funds this year to restart the Security Program, increase the Life Skills Program and initiate a Handyman Program.
Computer Skills Training: The Centre provides multiple 3-month End-User Computer skills training for a Level 3 Accreditation. The current group will complete the Program at the end of March. This program runs for the full year in 3-month blocks. The YDP beneficiaries are completing their computer training in March.
The Centre was funded for a 3 months Handyman Skills and Security training by the Department of Social Development (DSD), which started in January 2025 and ending in March 2025.
Life Skills training-3-month Program 150 beneficiaries.
Security Training-3-month Program-20 beneficiaries.
Handyman Program Skills-This is a new Program for the Centre. The Learners are trained in bricklaying, painting, plumbing, ceiling fitting, and wood work/upholstery. There are currently 10 beneficiaries enrolled in this course.
Department of Health Programs:
The Department of Health has indicated by sending a recommendation letter to the Centre that they are continuing with the HTS (HIV/AIDS outreach) program with Bokamoso Life Centre in 2025-2026.

We currently have two beneficiaries who have finished their tertiary qualifications. The one is a holder of Degree in Economics and the other is a holder of Diploma in Marketing Management
Success stories
BLC is still in partnership with Tidimalong After Care. We are looking forward to more of our beneficiaries being given the opportunity of learnership or internship by this organization.
We also partnered with Umvelinqangi Organization which offered 5 of Bokamoso beneficiaries Bursaries (all expenses paid) to study at the Regent College in Hatfield Pretoria. The 5 bursary holders were trained in Bokamoso on End-User Computing and came top 5.
The BLC held a fruitful Strategic Planning Workshop, of which staff members were workshopped on Policies and the Chairperson signed them off after the workshop. The Centre is now running on reviewed policies signed.
Stakeholders’ involvement
We have partnered with GOMACC (Gauteng Organization for Arts and Culture Centre, which trained our 10 beneficiaries in Fundraising, Arts Administration, Business Planning, Proposal Writing and Financial Management Skills on a 1-day training session.
We still partner with the stakeholders of previous years and will continue with beneficiaries’ workshops, information sharing and staff training.

Finance Hat, an accounting agency, is also keeping books to ensure a smooth Audit for the 2024/2025 financial year. They are also preparing an improved payroll system to begin at the end March 2025.
Conclusion: The Bokamoso Life Centreis off to a good start in 2025. Our beneficiaries are participating in a variety of programs and life experiences that will positively impact their futures and the future of the community.
