By Bonnie Robins | Director, Access Nature, Lewisboro Land Trust
Our Access Nature Educational Workshop is ready to launch. After many months of hard work, we are so pleased to report that we have completed our teaching workshop. Now thousands of people with disabilities and the disadvantaged, will be able to gain the benefits of nature, regardless of where they live.
Recent studies show that 60-120 minutes a week in nature significantly increases well-being. And, those with severe Depressive Disorder experience a significant increase in mood after a nature walk. Our work with adults with mental illness and intellectual chanlleges verify these results.
Our Educational Workshop will be available, FREE of charge, to outdoor organizations and land trusts, so that they too can bring the benefits of nature to those most in need - right in their own home communities.
