"The smiles on our Access Nature guests' faces, by the end of the program, says it all. When they arrive for their nature experience, there is understandably a little bit of anxiety. Soon after, however, they begin to explore their surroundings with the assistance of a naturalist. A transformation occurs: Their eyes begin to sparkle with excitement and confidence, and soon they are asking many thoughtful questions. Recent studies are heralding the benefits of connecting with nature. Access Nature's goal is to create opportunities for those who have disabilities, or are disadvantaged, so they too can enjoy these benefits. We purposely design our programs near where our guests reside in order for them to return independently of our program. Also, our programs are safe, customized for the needs of the group, educational, and fun!" Gigi Gutherie, Access Nature program coordinator, Lewisboro Land Trust
