The NGOimpacto team collectively built the Dreams and Visions identification tool as a baseline and diagnosis, then developed the curricular part that we present in this report, through a playful and circular dialogue approach, we approached the women partners and jointly developed life plans aimed at fulfilling expectations and creating commitments that contribute positively to our main goal, the Lekil Kuxlejal (good living) of women and their communities and address their main concerns through the work methodology, “Women's Circle”, a powerful means to strengthen trust and intercultural communication.
The Women's Circle held in Aguacatenango, Municipality of Venustiano Carranza, Chiapas, was attended by 80 master artisans from four groups: Bordados de Margarita, Flor de Girasol, Flor de Rococó y Pasbil ta K’abal. The objective was to generate a safe space for the transmission of deep knowledge and life stories where women transmit their dreams and ideals.
The first activity was to recognize the emotions with which the women and the NGOimpacto team came to the workshop, in order to know how to recognize what we feel and why we feel it.
In the next block, the women identified the similarities, challenges and shared desires among them, and the importance of generating safe spaces for dialogue where they feel confident to share their needs, progress and opinions regarding their position as artisans, heads of household and women entrepreneurs.
Another activity consisted in the performance of a sociodrama, a participatory methodology technique that allowed the women to reflect on the value of collective work and the exchange of experiences.
To close the workshop, the dynamics revolved around the ability to solve problems and make decisions as a team. Groups were formed where the women placed different geometric figures, through this game they recognized the value of establishing empathetic relationships that allow the recognition of collective projections to build bridges of mutual support and empathy.
